Interviwing my Dad: The Lesser spotted woodpecker.
Last week my farther saw a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker and this is what he said:
"On Thursday morning I was in the garden, hanging up the two fat-balls for the Blue Tits, when a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker flew in to a nearby tree. I went into the house, and it swooped down onto one of the fat- balls and began eating. This surprised me because I understood that woodpeckers preferred peanuts, which we have hanging nearby."
