what to in winter.

this is what to do in the winter:

put food out for the birds

and that is it! easy peasy.

Interviwing my Dad: The Lesser spotted woodpecker.

Last week my farther saw a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker and this is what he said:

"On Thursday morning I was in the garden, hanging up the two fat-balls for the Blue Tits, when a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker flew in to a nearby tree. I went into the house, and it swooped down onto one of the fat- balls and began eating. This surprised  me because I understood that woodpeckers preferred peanuts, which we have hanging nearby."

stuff to do (in October)

Pressing leaves:

Try to find as many different leaves as you can. Press the leaves  in a big heavy book for two or three days then stick them on a piece of paper. Then write down the details about the tree.

I hope you have fun doing this!

A great discovery!

When I was on the train I saw a bird, a bit like a buzzard but I do not know if it was a bird of prey. I still do not know what it was, my mum and dad thinks it's a: hawk, kestrel. I think it's a kestrel.
Here's a photo of it in action:
It's flying and probably saw his prey. Later I saw a rabbit, so off it goes off the list!

So if you want to see some animals watch Autumnwatch (I think it's on a saturday), if you're wonderring
what animals are doing now, tomorrow I'll show you!
